Our relationships with other people can also be a contributor to how we feel emotionally, situations like arguments, deadlines, or family problems are some possible events that could influence emotional stress levels.

Common signs of emotional stress are: heaviness in the chest, jaw clenching, or teeth grinding.

3. Mental stress is the type of stress that affects our thoughts and how we process information. It is often triggered when we experience something new, unexpected that threatens our sense of self, or when we feel we have little control over a situation.

It can be caused by things like decision-making, multitasking, or problem-solving. Some situations might make you feel worried, fearful, or full of self-doubt.

Common signs of mental stress are: anxiety, depression, and irritability.

  • You have trouble concentrating or remembering things*

  • Your appetite changes (you either lose your appetite or you start eating more)*

Tips on Managing Stress
